It is called the Island Tournament. It is essentially the Olympics of lifeguarding on Long Beach Island.
Teams compete to see who is the fastest when it comes to rowing, paddling or swimming.
Beach Haven, Surf City, Ship Bottom, Long Beach Township and Barnegat Light all send teams. But all of them have been chasing the lifeguards from Harvey Cedars.
