A 20-year-old man wanted for murder in Jersey City was arrested Sunday in Florida.
Hudson County prosecutors say Darren Estevez will be extradited back to New Jersey to face murder and weapons charges. These charges stem from a triple shooting that happened on April 7 when three people were shot, one fatally, in the area of Central Avenue and Bowers Street.
Estevez, of Jersey City, was arrested in Orlando on an unrelated matter and is being held by the Orange County Corrections Department pending extradition to New Jersey.
During the early phases of the shooting investigation, authorities say members of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit arrested Aaliyah Rivera, 23, of Jersey City, on April 24. Rivera is charged with murder as an accomplice and is being detained at the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office at 201-915-1345 or leave an anonymous tip here.
