At Delaney Hall, protesters are again calling for the ICE immigration detention center to be shutdown and all inside freed. Inside of the facility some 300 detainees are on day six of a hunger strike.
Those detainees are demanding a meeting with Governor Mikie Sherrill and the release of those in need of medical care including a woman who is pregnant and man coping with cancer.
Detainees have told family members and congressional members visiting the facility that the food is horrible and that there is overcrowding. Others have complained about being pressured to self deport and forgo their scheduled court hearings.
ICE agents and protesters did not clash Wednesday, but they did when detainees were being removed from the facility late Tuesday night.

Supporters of the detainees say 13 of those taking part in the hunger strike were removed from Delaney Hall since Friday and sent to other facilities as a form of retaliation.
“ICE continues to try to transfer the hunger strikers out of Delaney Hall and the families do not want that. They do not want to be away from their families, away from their legal services," said Amanda Dominguez, with the immigrant rights organization New Labor.
New York Rep. Adriano Espaillat was given access to Delaney Hall on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security says that "any claims of inadequate care are categorically false.”
ICE conducts comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health screenings within 12 hours of arrival, completes a full health assessment within 14 days, and ensures ongoing access to medical appointments and 24-hour emergency care," said a spokesperson for DHS.
