Hundreds of worshipers walked across the Brooklyn Bridge in unity, taking part of a 30-year tradition across the Brooklyn Bridge.
The Catholic tradition is known as the Way of The Cross Over the Brooklyn Bridge.
It commemorates the journey leading up to the crucifixion of Christ.
Friday's walk began at St. James Cathedral Basilica in Downtown Brooklyn and ended at the Orthodox Shrine of St. Nicholas at the World Trade Center.
Participants say it's time for reflection.
One woman said the event is a tradition for more than decade now - adding Good Friday is celebrated worldwide, but in Brooklyn, it's special.
"I think walking in New York City and the fact that they stop by the World Trade Center and like remembering what happened there, it just has a bigger, deeper meaning for me." said Christiana Ambo-Jones, an annual participant.
