Hundreds of community members gathered at the Nepperhan Community Center in Yonkers on Monday for an annual breakfast that honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This year's breakfast was sponsored in part by Mayor Mike Spano and several members from the Yonkers' City Council.
Organizers said the event focused on fellowship, prayer and unity.
Hope Hollinsworth-Coaxum, the director of the Office for Constituent Services, announced that this year’s theme was "Mission Possible 2."
"We want the community to be involved to understand this mission and his legacy and what meant, not to just the community, but to a nation. Nonviolence and just love and peace."
