A concerning incident involving homemade explosive devices in Fairfield sent one person to the hospital and prompted a multi-agency response.
An investigation revealed that four explosive devices were made and transported to a secluded area, Pine Creek Marsh. Those involved claimed the devices were created for "experimentation" purposes, not to cause harm.
Despite their intentions, the incident required a significant response from law enforcement and emergency services, including the FBI, Fairfield police, and the Stamford Bomb Squad.
As a precautionary measure, a temporary evacuation was ordered near the area where device materials were found. Additionally, one of the undetonated devices was safely disposed of.
