New York State Police and New York State Park Police have located the previously unidentified individual who was the subject of a search at Robert Moses State Park.

Following widespread media coverage, the individual contacted state park and police officials about their well-being.

Officials have confirmed that the swimmer was the same person who entered the ocean near Field 3 of Robert Moses State Park on Saturday afternoon.

Onlookers became concerned after the swimmer was not seen exiting the water.

The person sustained no injuries and no further assistance from the public is needed at this time.
