The government shutdown is nearing a month, and with the holiday travel season approaching, delays are mounting at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Air traffic controllers at the airport are working without paychecks and with staffing shortages now listed by the FAA at nearly two dozen airports nationwide.
More than 500 delays were reported at Newark on Sunday. Already today, there are nearly two dozen delays and a handful of cancellations.
The FAA listed staffing shortages at Newark among other airports across the country.
