The mayor of Hoboken is calling out residents for not cleaning up after their dogs, a problem she says has become more noticeable as melting snow reveals what was left behind.
Mayor Emily Jabbour says walkers, joggers, young children, people with strollers and commuters are all using the sidewalks and dodging dog poop.
There are serious fines of up to $2,000 for not picking up after your dog in the city.
Hoboken has more than 80 dog waste bag stations and over 500 public trash cans where people can toss used bags, the mayor said in a social media video Monday.
