Helen Keller Middle School in Easton celebrated its diamond anniversary Friday, honoring 60 years of "love and learning."
The school also honored the legacy of alumnus Mikey Friedman, founder of Mikey's Way Foundation. The foundation connects children with cancer and other illnesses to family through electronics. The school raised $9,000 for the foundation.
The school's faculty band performed at the ceremony and played songs from the '60s to current day hits.
"It's an amazing accomplishment to get here and to be under one roof and to be one of the first middle schools in the area," said school principal Steven Clapp. "And really celebrating that whole middle school journey from 11- to 14 year-olds."
