WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Sunshine and clouds will prevail for this weekend's weather. It will be dry, cool, and feeling like fall with highs topping out in the upper 50s and low 60s, and lows dropping to the 40s. It will be chilly in the shade and cool in the sun.
Rain chances hold off until middle to late next week, but there's a catch. The exact timing on next week's rain and potential coastal storm could linger into Halloween. Details will be much clearer heading into earliest parts of next week for the timing and when and where impacts will be the greatest. Until then, it's smooth sailing rain wise.
Temperatures are consistent and cool, with highs mainly in the mid- to upper 50s. Lows will be in the 40s and feeling chilly. There won't be much variety in temperatures for much of the next week.
Tropical Storm Melissa continues to cause major problems in the Caribbean. Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic could all see intense and torrential rainfall, leading to life-threatening flash flooding and landslides. Melissa is expected to strengthen, not just into a hurricane but potentially a major hurricane by the end of the weekend or early next week. The News 12 Storm Watch Team will continue to monitor, as the current forecast track has Melissa moving north. More time is necessary to fully grasp where it is headed.
