The Harrison Police Department has issued a warning to the public about scam callers falsely claiming to be officers.

Authorities say residents have been receiving calls from scammers stating that they must pay a fine or be arrested for failing to report to jury duty.

Police advise people to hang up if they receive a call. The department reminds residents that they will never call to demand payment in any situation.
