A Hackensack man has been charged after prosecutors say a child was found unresponsive and revived with naloxone after coming into contact with fentanyl pills inside a residence.
The Bergen County Prosecutor said Oluwatobi “Tobi” A. Bamisile, 34, was arrested Tuesday and charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Authorities say Hackensack police responded to a home around 8:05 p.m. Sunday for a medical emergency involving a child. First responders found the child unresponsive and administered naloxone before taking the child to a hospital for further treatment.
Investigators say Bamisile possessed pills containing fentanyl and left them in an area easily accessible to the child. Prosecutors say two other children also came into contact with the pills, and one briefly ingested a pill before quickly spitting it out.
Bamisile was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in court.
