Another night of clashes unfolded outside the Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark as protests entered a seventh day.

New video shows tense and at times violent confrontations between protesters and federal agents overnight.

The scene closely mirrors what was seen earlier this week, with protesters and officers facing off as vehicles entered and exited the facility.

ICE officers were seen holding pepper spray as tensions escalated during the standoffs.

Protesters say they are concerned detainees could be transferred out of state and away from their families.

Inside the facility, detainees continue a hunger and labor strike.

Advocates say those involved are demanding a meeting with Gov. Mikie Sherrill, improved conditions and the release of vulnerable detainees, including those with medical needs.

Officials say protesters have remained outside the facility around the clock.

Supporters of the detainees say 13 of those taking part in the hunger strike were removed from Delaney Hall since Friday and sent to other facilities as a form of retaliation.

Federal officials are pushing back on the demonstrations, with Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin criticizing the situation. "And for Governor Sherrill, Senator Kim, Senator Booker to go out and do something like this… is very frustrating," Mullin said. "They barricaded it, not allowing our employees to come in and out… ICE has to go out there and remove the barricade."

Gov. Sherrill said the state is working to ensure people can safely and peacefully exercise their constitutional rights while also seeking more information about conditions inside. "We're all working together to make sure people here in New Jersey can safely and peacefully exercise their constitutional rights," Sherrill said.

The situation remains active as demonstrations continue and tensions persist overnight.
