Brooklyn woman accused of fatally striking man with her car, dragging him for half a mile in Flatbush hit-and-run
Police say a Brooklyn woman is accused of hitting a man with her car and dragging him for around half a mile during a fatal hit-and-run in Flatbush.
Ajahnni Triana, 30, was arrested nearly a year and a half after allegedly killing 64-year-old Michael Foster with her white Audi sedan.
The NYPD says the crash happened on Canton Avenue, where Foster, of Brooklyn, was panhandling just after 5:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve 2024.
Triana allegedly struck and dragged Foster, who became dislodged from the car at Linden Boulevard and Nostrand Avenue, where he was left lying in the road.
Officers found Foster with severe trauma to his head and body.
EMS pronounced him dead at the scene, according to police.
The Audi took off after the crash, and its alleged driver was taken into custody Wednesday.
Triana faces multiple charges, including criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and moving from a lane unsafely.
