Five people, including three juveniles, were arrested Wednesday after several fights broke out at West Haven High School, police say.

Police say during the incidents, two parents of the juveniles involved arrived at the school. They say the parents caused a disturbance while they attempted to involve themselves in the altercations. No one was injured.

Police say that because of the violent and tumultuous behavior displayed by the juveniles and adults involved, a shelter-in place was established to ensure the safety of students and staff inside the building.

Three female juveniles and two adult females were arrested.

They have not been identified, and police have not revealed what charges they are facing.
