Residents on Edgemere Avenue in Warwick are being requested to evacuate as the Greenwood Lake wildfire approaches.
Officials say residents north of 42 Edgemere may evacuate by their personal vehicles. Residents from 32 to 42 Edgemere will be provided transportation out by a Warwick Dial-a-Bus.
The evacuation site will be Greenwood Lake Middle School located at 1247 Lakes Rd. Pets are welcome at the shelter.
Officials say there is time to leave. However, they do not want congestion in the area as more crews move in. They say residents of Wah-ta-Wah should continue to be on watch.
Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus told News 12 that the “wind picked up today which did not help” and that the situation remains “fluid.”
