After a 15-year absence, Darien High School will hold its homecoming semi-formal Saturday.
To celebrate the event, a life-size 3D model wave was made that will serve as the backdrop for photos taken at the dance.
Creating the wave was a family affair for the Clarke family. Alumnus Jonah Clarke designed and constructed the wave. His niece, Ella, who is currently a freshman, conceived the creative vision with help from her dad, Zeb.
Senior Will Scallon spearheaded the painting and gave the wave its vibrant look.
The wave will be used for other community projects.
The homecoming game was held Friday night. The Blue Wave defeated St. Joseph's Trumbull 14-0.
