The woman believed to be the oldest living nun resides on Long Island, according to the Gerontology Research Group.
Sister Francis Dominici Piscatella turned 112 on Easter Sunday.
At the age of 17, she was turned away from several religious communities due to an accident when she was a child that left one of her arms amputated.
When she was accepted into the Amityville Dominicans, they gave her some challenging physical tasks.
She proved that not only could she keep up, but she would excel in her career, teaching math at several schools, including Malloy College for 52 years.
