The future of Spring Valley is up in the air after village leaders voted to explore whether it should dissolve.
The Board of Trustees voted Monday to begin a study and planning process to determine if dissolving the village is in the public interest.
Voters would ultimately have the final say on the issue.
The village’s four trustees approved the resolution, while Mayor Schenly Vital abstained from the vote.
Officials say the study will review potential legal, fiscal, operational and service delivery impacts tied to a possible dissolution.
