The ski slopes and snow tubing lanes at Campgaw Mountain Ski Area in Mahwah were packed with people on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The holiday, mixed with fresh snowfall, brought many people outdoors.
Mountain officials say that this year, they've been very lucky. They say they got the weather needed to prepare the mountain for the season, as well as get all the trails, lifts and lanes open.
"Normally, President's Week is a little easier because it's later in the season so sometimes getting ready for Martin Luther King Jr. Day is difficult if we don't get enough snow-making opportunities not everything will be open. But this year, we've been very, very fortunate. We've been able to get everything open," said Joseph Fox, CEO of Campgaw Mountain Ski Area.
Mountain officials say if the weather continues to cooperate, they are hoping to carry out the ski season well into April.
