A fox stuck on the Barnegat Bay ice for days - has finally been rescued.

Animal officials say after the fox was trapped, it was taken to the Bayshore Veterinary Hospital and given antibiotics and pain medication. They say the fox was also treated for mites.

Officials say the fox is stressed and scared and that they will do more wound care on Wednesday.

They also say that while the fox currently weighs only eight pounds, he should gain some weight after being nourished and cleared of infections.
