Four New Jersey residents have been charged with helping an accused murder suspect evade law enforcement as authorities continue searching for a Toms River man wanted in a fatal shooting.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced that Ronald Hagan, 50, of Brick Township; Sylvester Green, 43, of Bayville; Cherice Nicholson, 46, of Howell; and Jennifer Rizalvo, 48, of Lakewood were each charged Sept. 24 with hindering the apprehension of another.

The charges stem from an investigation into the whereabouts of Douglas Cobb, 51, of Toms River, who is charged in the Sept. 18 killing of Bruce Gress, 42, of Toms River.

Investigators determined that Hagan, Green, Nicholson and Rizalvo each helped Cobb avoid apprehension and/or provided false information to law enforcement, according to prosecutors.

Hagan remains a fugitive. Authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest and entered his name into the National Crime Information Center database.
