A 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with a Darien home invasion, police say.

Detectives identified the juvenile following extensive interviews, neighborhood canvassing, video review, ALPR database review, crime scene processing and the execution of multiple search warrants.

The juvenile was arrested at the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center on Sept. 9 and charged with home invasion and conspiracy to commit home invasion. Police say they will not be releasing the individual’s name or photo due to their age.

Police say on March 5, three masked suspects entered a home on Five Mile River Road using a key hidden outside. The homeowner then saw the trio on the front porch and called 911.

Police say when the homeowner confronted the intruders at the front door, he noticed one of them was armed with a handgun. Officers say the man feared for his safety and fired at the suspects, who then left the area.

The car the suspects used was later recovered in Bridgeport. It had been stolen from Fairfield.
