A former Freehold Intermediate School teacher has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually assaulting a student.

Allison Havemann-Niedrach, 45, was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty in January.

The relationship between the former teacher and her teenage student began in January 2024 and lasted about six months, prosecutors said.

Investigators found Havemann-Niedrach was in near-constant contact with the student.

Thousands of text messages were uncovered during the investigation, prosecutors said.
