Heavy rain is raising flooding concerns across the Hudson Valley as wet weather moves through the region Monday.
Forecasters say rain is expected throughout the day, bringing possible ponding on roadways and flooding in low-lying areas.
State officials said they are prepared for potential impacts.
Gov. Kathy Hochul said about 3,500 Department of Transportation workers have been deployed and are ready to respond to downed trees and debris.
State water rescue teams and fire prevention crews are also positioned around the region to assist with emergencies.
Hochul urged residents to keep government emergency alerts enabled on their phones.
The rain comes as cleanup continues in parts of Westchester County following destructive storms over the holiday weekend.
Hastings, Yonkers, Mount Vernon and New Rochelle were among the communities hit hardest by the storms.
Officials said some of the downed trees are so large that it could take days for crews to remove them.
