A fuel tanker rolled over at the Somerset Condos on Buckingham Court, pinning the driver underneath.
The Hillcrest Fire Department responded to the scene, initially believing it to be an oil spill. Upon arrival, they found the driver trapped beneath the vehicle.
The driver, alert and conscious, was freed using airbags and wood blocks and taken to a local hospital with injuries.
Haverstraw police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Hillcrest Fire Department Chief Orin Ben-Jacob said, "Once we got underneath, we lifted the truck with airbags, securing it with wood blocks. We freed the driver, pulling him out on a backboard."
