An early morning fire ripped through a deli at the corner of Broadway and Walton Street, forcing families out of their homes into freezing temperatures.
The FDNY says the fire broke out just around 5 a.m. in the ground-floor deli of a three-story building.
More than 130 firefighters and EMS crews worked to contain the flames, bringing the fire under control in under two hours.
No injuries were reported, and the FDNY says all tenants living above the deli were safely evacuated.
The deli was closed at the time, and no one was inside when the fire started.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause.
