A devastating apartment fire in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx left 10 people without a home.

Flames tore through the fourth floor of the building Monday night. While no injuries were reported, families returned to extensive damage, including holes in ceilings, stripped walls and lingering smoke.

Some residents described seeing smoke coming through floors and walls as firefighters worked to locate the source of the blaze and bring it under control.

The Red Cross is looking into possible assistance and next steps for the displaced families.

The FDNY says the cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
