        Fire in Passaic leaves 14 residents displaced in bitter cold temperatures

        A fire in Passaic has left 14 residents from three families without a home. The fire occurred Tuesday afternoon on Lafayette Avenue.
        News 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo reports that eyewitnesses say two children were initially seen trying to escape through an upstairs window when police arrived. However, they went back inside and were safely brought out by their father.
        No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
        The Red Cross New Jersey Chapter is assisting the displaced residents with temporary lodging, food, clothing, and other immediate needs.
