A fire caused extensive damage early Friday morning to a maintenance building at the Putnam County Golf Course in the Mahopac Falls area.
The building sits behind the main clubhouse. Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department officials say the structure was fully engulfed when crews arrived around 2:15 a.m.
The response was complicated by two 1,000‑pound propane tanks that became compromised during the fire. Several departments assisted in battling the flames, which took several hours to bring under control.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
