Filming is underway in New Jersey for a new "Friday the 13th"-inspired series.
The movie and franchise brought visitors to Warren County on Monday.
Film crews transformed Main Street in Blairstown, bringing it back in time for a new series titled "Crystal Lake." It's set to be Peacock's prequel to the "Friday the 13th" movie, which was released in 1980.
"I think everyone was excited because Main Street was kind of transformed into this ‘60s, ‘70s Main Street," said Jordyn Rumsey, from the Blairstown Diner.
The fictitious town of Crystal Lake came alive with outfitted storefronts, street signs and classic cars. People and fans of the franchise traveled into town to see the work up close.
"It had a lot of street action. We saw people in those time period outfits," said Chris, a visitor with his family from Flemington. "It was a thrill, really a thrill."
People watched take after take, and checked out local spots, like the Blairstown Diner.
"We have a lot of ‘Friday the 13th’ fans coming in to the diner because they've been watching the filming and everything," said Rumsey.
The diner appeared in the original film and has become a destination stop for fans. Visitors stop by all year long - and of course on Friday the 13th.
"I've met people from Europe to Australia to 20 minutes away to California," said Rumsey.
The premiere date is not available just yet, but Peacock does have it listed on the schedule for upcoming 2025-2026 shows.
