Summerlike pattern of heat, humidity and strong pop-up storms for NJ

Strong storms are possible through Saturday as summerlike hot and humid weather lingers.

Areas of dense fog linger this morning until the showers pass through between 10 a.m. and noon today. These showers will clear the air to humidity and warmth for the midday.
High temperatures push to the lower-80s this afternoon. There will be sun and clouds this afternoon.
Fog settles in again overnight into Saturday morning with unsettled conditions expected. There could be a round or two of storms for Saturday morning with afternoon warmth and sunshine.
The warmth comes with high humidity levels, which make for an unstable environment capable of producing pop-up thunderstorms.
There will also be a weather front passing on Saturday afternoon that would use that heat and humidity to create strong storms, with the primary threat being winds.
An isolated rotating thunderstorm is possible and can produce a few tornadoes. Since this is a hit-or-miss weather event, there is no promise that this will happen - but it is important to be prepared for what we know the atmosphere is able to do based on meteorological calculations. It will be hot with highs near 84-86 degrees.
Sunday is cooler and pleasant with lots of sunshine and highs near 76.
