A father is dead and his teenage son is recovering after a stabbing in Sheepshead Bay late Tuesday night.
Police say it happened just after 10:40 p.m. outside a laundromat on Neptune Avenue. A 54-year-old man was stabbed in the chest and later died at the hospital. His 19-year-old son had a cut on his head but is expected to be okay.
A police source tells News 12 the violence may have started as an argument outside the laundromat before it spilled inside. Some neighbors say the father and son worked there—but police haven’t confirmed that.
Video from the scene shows someone crying outside the laundromat. Officers blocked off the area overnight as crime scene teams collected evidence.
“It doesn’t feel safe. Nobody is,” said Allan, a neighbor. “This is a beautiful neighborhood… the ocean’s right here. I was supposed to do laundry here in a couple days.”
As of Monday morning, no arrests have been made and police haven’t released a suspect description. The investigation is still ongoing.
