Her three children are keeping her memory alive eight years after her death.
News 12 sat down with her oldest daughter, Genesis.
She spoke about her mother, her journey healing from loss, her experience raising her siblings and her continuous fight for her mother's benefits.
A memorial service will be held at the 46th Precinct on Saturday, July 6 at 1p.m.
