Fairfield secured a legal victory in its battle against United Illuminating's plan to build a 145-foot-tall high-voltage power line, town officials said.
The Connecticut Siting Council had approved the 7-mile project, stretching from Southport to Bridgeport along the north side of the railroad tracks and Post Road.
Fairfield, joined by other plaintiffs, sued, challenging the approval process.
The court's ruling sends the plan back to the Siting Council for further review.
