An eyewitness in the trial of Steven Schwally, who's accused of driving drunk and barreling into a nail salon, killing four people and injuring others, told the court that she's "never seen anything that fast," describing the speed of his SUV.

Victoria Doto testified that she was on her way to the outlets on June 28, 2024 with her sister when she suddenly heard a "loud noise" and saw an SUV, which was "going full speed" and not going to stop.

"I was just in complete shock," Doto said.

She testified that she pulled over and ran to the nail salon where there was glass everywhere.

"Everything in the nail salon was shattered," she said.

She did not go inside, she said, in part because there were "too many people screaming" and "crying", along with "lots of blood."

When questioned by the defense, Doto testified that the defendant's car hit a tree.

"We pointed out that he tried to avoid the crash by going towards a tree. Their [the prosecution's] witness just said that he hit the tree," said Schally's attorney Christopher Cassar.

Cassar maintains his client was not intoxicated. He said Schwally had a problem with his leg and was unable to remove it from the gas pedal.

The trial continues Wednesday.
