A public hearing was held Monday night, where students and parents made emotional pleas to West Babylon school leaders about its proposed consolidation plan.
If approved by the board, five elementary schools would be consolidated into four.
Forest Avenue Elementary would close and possibly be leased out to generate revenue for the district.
Some parents say they the plan is being rushed, others say the closure might end up benefitting the district in the long run.
The board is scheduled to vote on the plan Tuesday at 5 p.m.
