The Suffolk County Department of Public Works will release preliminary findings of a traffic study on County Road 39 in Southampton.
The roadway, known as the gateway to the East End, connects to Sunrise Highway and is a major thoroughfare on the south fork.
Traffic problems have plagued the county road for years, especially during rush hour and over the summer. The traffic study aims to cut down on conversion, improve safety and prevent drivers from using local roads to take short cuts.
The data will be presented at a meeting at Southampton High School. Members of the public will have the opportunity to comment.
