Parents: Daily scans at schools keep Bronx students waiting outside, hours past arrival time
Concerned parents in the Bronx say long lines created by daily scans at school are keeping students waiting outside for hours.
News 12 crews observed dozens of kids waiting outside school doors after arrival time Wednesday morning.
Parents say 311 complaints and calls for order hasn't helped.
"I want to be at work and making sure that my kids are in school and not outside," a parent tells News 12.
News 12 called the school for comment. School officials did not want to be on camera but say they are aware of the issue. They say there aren't enough officers to cover schools.
The Department of Education tells News 12 school safety leadership will meet with partners at the NYPD on Wednesday, who provide and operate daily school scanning, to ensure this issue is fixed.
