        DA: Former Patchogue attorney indicted for stealing $70,000 from clients

        The Suffolk district attorney says Daniel Fier embezzled funds from two different client’s real estate escrow accounts.

        A former Patchogue attorney is accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from his clients.
        The Suffolk district attorney says Daniel Fier embezzled funds from two different client’s real estate escrow accounts.
        The 40-year-old stole more than $70,000 from the clients between January 2022 and October 2023, according to the DA.
        Fier allegedly spent the money on personal expenses.
        Fier is facing five to 15 years in prison.
        He is due back in court in February.
