Curtis Sliwa denies rumors of White House job
Mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa is speaking out against speculation about a White House role.
The rumors stem from a New York Times report indicating that advisers to President Donald Trump discussed offering administration roles to both incumbent Mayor Eric Adams and Sliwa.
Adams is pushing back against the rumors about meeting with Trump and speculation surrounding his campaign.
According to published reports, Adams was offered a position in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
In a statement issued Wednesday, Sliwa responded:
"The White House has not contacted me, and I'm not interested in a job with the White House. My focus is right here in New York. I'm the only candidate on a major party line who can defeat Mamdani, and I'm committed to carrying this fight through to Election Day. The people of New York City deserve a mayor who truly cares."
