Many residents in the Riverside section of Paterson may have little to no water service due to a 42-inch main break.
Officials say it happened Saturday on North First and Arch Street.
The Passaic Valley Water Commission is at the scene trying to isolate the break. There is no estimated timeframe for repairs as of Sunday afternoon.
Officials say the borough of Fair Lawn has also been impacted.
A water main break occurred earlier this month in Paterson. Crews fixed the 24 and 30-inch pipelines this week.
However, a boil water advisory remains in effect for customers served by the Manchester Utilities Authority in Haledon and North Haledon.
The advisory was lifted for customers in Paterson who live south of Broadway, east of Spruce Street and west of Route 20.
