Members of the Strong Island Animal Rescue League helped save an alligator dumped at the Holtsville Ecology Center.
The organization says individuals at the scene contained the alligator until they arrived.
The animal is now with the Department of Environmental Conservation and receiving proper care.
Strong Island Animal Rescue League says they are returning to the center Friday to check if any other alligators were dumped there.
