A cool and damp start to the week with on-again, off-again rain chances that will highlight this week, leading into the start of summer.
Temperatures will stay below normal (79 degrees), with clouds dominating our skies until Wednesday. Continue keeping those umbrellas nearby for the spotty rain chances that become a bit more organized on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
The temperatures, unfortunately, can never do anything gradually. We will soar into summer warmth of the mid-80s by Wednesday, and it will be even hotter on Thursday, with high temperatures peaking near the record high in White Plains that was set back in 1994 at 92 degrees. It will also be humid during the day, with sunshine and a few clouds.
The heat indices will push to be near the mid-90s, marking one of the first truly hot summer days, the day before summer officially starts. Following a cold front Thursday evening, some thunderstorms may be produced. This may lead to some gusty thunderstorms in the afternoon and into the evening commute.
