Connecticut is joining 21 other states in a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration over cuts to Planned Parenthood.
Attorney General William Tong announced the legal action Tuesday, saying the move to block Medicaid reimbursements violates Congress' Spending Clause power and could increase health risks and costs in Medicaid programs.
"We're talking about health care," Tong said. "We're talking about routine screenings, OB-GYN care, contraception, and cancer screenings."
The lawsuit argues that the restrictions would harm access to essential services, not just reproductive care.
