5h agoNonprofits across Connecticut are calling for an additional $491 million in funding in the next state budget.
Organizations like Oak Hill, which serves 3,500 individuals, are facing a critical funding crisis. "Chronic underfunding has forced us to close 20 programs – 20 programs – over the past 10 years," stated an Oak Hill representative. "Group homes and day programs that don't exist anymore."
Earlier this week, the state's largest cities also requested an additional half-a-billion dollars in funding, primarily for special education programs.
