FORECAST:
Thursday morning will be the coolest start of the week for Western Connecticut.
Temperatures are expected to fall into the 40s and lower/middle 50s.
Normal morning temperatures should be around 65 degrees along the I-95 corridor.
By Thursday afternoon, temperatures will warm up more and there will be a slight uptick in the humidity.
There are a risk of showers and a few isolated thunderstorms on Friday. Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s.
A cooler feel arrives as the weekend kicks off, look for middle 70s on Saturday.
The rest of the holiday weekend looks great and the weather will stay dry.
The dryness could end up being more of a problem down the road. Parts of Southern CT are abnormally dry and have had very little rainfall for the month. Areas up north have had decent rainfall with some thunderstorms over the summer.
The Bridgeport climate site at Sikorsky airport is reporting well below average rainfall for the month and the summer season. If this trend continues, we could be facing a drought again over the southern part of the state.
