        Charges upgraded in arson attempt on Nassau Social Services building

        James Luca and Jayson Anthony Reyes were arrested for the incident, according to police.

        Charges have been upgraded for two North Merrick men accused of attempted arson.
        Police say someone in October left propane tanks near the Nassau Department of Social Services building in Uniondale, threw lit flares toward the tanks and then ran away.
        James Luca and Jayson Anthony Reyes were arrested for the incident, according to police.
        Luca was also arrested four months ago for allegedly throwing an explosive and damaging a woman's car parked in her driveway last year.
