Caught on camera: Man pulls knife on bodega employees in Highbridge

The United Bodegas of America says the man was later arrested by police and that he has previously been arrested for similar attacks at a neighboring bodega.

Video captured inside a Highbridge deli shows a man pull a butcher knife on two employees in the store.
It happened at the 3 J's Deli and Grocery on Anderson Avenue and West 166th Street.
Surveillance video shows a man walk into the store around 7:40 p.m. Monday. It shows him walking up tothe plastic door where the employees are standing behind and appearing to exchange words before he walks toward the back of the store and returns with a knife in his hand.
He is then seen storming the counter in an attempt to stab the employees, who are behind a protective plastic barrier.
Video then shows an employe grab a bat and chase the man out of the store.
The United Bodegas of America says the man was later arrested by police and that he has previously been arrested for similar attacks at a neighboring bodega.
"These are three separate police reports aside from many other attacks that he’s involved in," said Fernando Mateo, the spokesperson for the United Bodegas of America, "What are we waiting for, are we waiting for this man to kill someone before something is done, I don’t understand how this man can walk into this bodega try to take the life of two men that are working in this bodega."
